Had zero success in getting URL categories working with Lightsquid, decided to just uninstall all the packages and do a clean config. Uninstalled from the GUI, worked but took quite some time. Now when I try to re-install, I get the following error:

    **Installed packages to be REMOVED:
    nss_ldap: 1.265_14
    openldap24-client: 2.4.59_4
    pam_ldap: 186_1
    pfSense: 22.01
    php74-ldap: 7.4.26

    New packages to be INSTALLED:
    arc: 5.21p [pfSense]
    arj: 3.10.22_8 [pfSense]
    brotli: 1.0.9,1 [pfSense]
    c-icap: 0.5.8,2 [pfSense]
    c-icap-modules: 0.5.5 [pfSense]
    clamav: 0.103.2,1 [pfSense]
    krb5: 1.19.1 [pfSense]
    libmspack: 0.10.1 [pfSense]
    openldap-client: 2.4.59 [pfSense]
    pfSense-pkg-squid: 0.4.45_5 [pfSense]
    squid: 4.15 [pfSense]
    squid_radius_auth: 1.10 [pfSense]
    squidclamav: 7.1 [pfSense]
    unzoo: 4.4_2 [pfSense]

Number of packages to be removed: 5
Number of packages to be installed: 14

The process will require 22 MiB more space.
pkg-static: Cannot delete vital package: pfSense!
pkg-static: If you are sure you want to remove pfSense,
pkg-static: unset the 'vital' flag with: pkg set -v 0 pfSense
    Failed**

I've removed all the the cached files from the /var/cache/pkg directory which only makes a difference of downloading the files before failing with the same error.

@jim-prudhomme Is the System/Update/Update Settings "Branch" set to 22.01?

Pre-2.7.2/23.09: Only install packages for your version, or risk breaking it. Select your branch in System/Update/Update Settings.
When upgrading, allow 10-15 minutes to restart, or more depending on packages and device speed.

As usual, it's the tinkering that kills you. I had tried to fallback to an earlier version of pfsense+ (21.05.2) thinking that would be the issue. Annnnd the nickel dropped. I had left it there at some point. Putting back on the 22.01 release let everything install correctly, it's now showing up in the services section. Onto the Lightsquid URL category loading configuration issue but I think this particular issue is/was resolved.

@steveits Good call! I think I see how you figured it out- it's trying to remove the 22.01 version when doing the installation, correct? And thank you!

Basically, yes. It does the same thing the other direction...have 21.05, install a package for 22.01, and PHP etc. might get upgraded. Hence my sig.
