Two wireguard clients at same location connecting to one remote server, latency difference?
-
Hoping someone can help me understand what is going on. Not entirely sure this is wireguard issue (perhaps routing?) but let's start here. I have a remote SG5100 which functions as the "server" device for two remote wireguard "clients." Both the clients are located at my home and share the same WAN source. I have two separate tunnels, one for each "client". When I look at the gateway monitoring on the remote end, the ping and latency are, in my opinion, quite different. How can this be so if both devices are exiting via the same route (WAN)?! One of the clients is another SG5100 while the other is a MikroTik RB5009. Is this just a matter of Linux vs. BSD? The lower RTT is the RB5009.

Yes, lest someone freak out about the RTT, the remote device is about 7500 miles away and I'm using an LTE connection with the expected jitter and other fun. No biggie as it still allows me to stream video in UHD. :)
