    Hello

Currently after the bundle is installed the name of the VPN on devices is:
    XXXXX-UDP4-1199-config

Can this be changed by using the additional configuration options or any other options?

For our corporate environments there needs to be a less messy name like:
    Company_VPN.

    Any help would be appreciated.

    Kind Regards,
    Jaco

@jacoventer you can just rename the file.. As changing the name for export, not sure - but its just a file once you download it you can name it whatever you want .ovpn before you give it to your users, etc.

        @johnpoz Thx for the reply

I still need the "all-in-one installation" to work - as I need to distribute the installation to a couple 100s of users, sending them separate files and instructions introduces the potential for mistakes - I would like it to be as streamlined as possible.

          "all-in-one installation

          Not sure what that means?

You mean where the export name is
          sg4860-UDP4-1194-worklaptop-config.ovpn

Which is for that specific cert.. So throw them in to your fav rename, and rename it

          companyvpn-worklaptop-config.ovpn

Could rename 10,000 of those files in a few seconds.. leaving the name alone and just changing the sg4860-UDP4-1194 part.

@johnpoz The all in one refers to the config, crt and tls is bundles with the Ovpn program itself.

I want the name of the config file to be renamed before it is exported, thereby when the installation is done, the config files doesn't need renaming after the fact.

              I assume, you're talking about the Windows installation bundle. It's a self-extracting 7-zip file.

So you can use 7-zip command line tool with the rn command to rename the .ovpn file in the compressed package. Write a small script to execute all your exported packages.

@viragomann I assuming the .exe that is downloaded from pfsense can be edited then by the 7-zip command-line tool? I will give it a try - thanks for the info!

Yes, I did this already in the past due to the same reason.

It's sufficient to rename the .ovpn file. Certs and keys names can stay unchanged.

@viragomann I was able to open the .exe as an archive in 7-zip and just rename the .ovpn as you don't even need to run in it as a command - rename is an option when right-clicking on the file whilst having the it open as an archive.

Thanks again for pointing me in the right direction!
