    AFTER PFSENSE UPDATE TO 22.05 SQUID WILL NOT RESTART

      AFTER PFSENSE UPDATE TO 22.05 SQUID WILL NOT RESTART.
      After my update to 22.05 no matter what I do I can not get squid to restart I am running the Netgate 7100
      Serial: 1437180160
      Netgate Device ID: cbb6503caf8accb0bedd
      any ideas what I can do to get it running again?

        @dgall Check /var/squid/logs to see what it's complaining about.

          "FATAL: MIME Config Table /usr/local/etc/squid/mime.conf: No such file"

          Reinstalling squid package also fails for me. I try to remove and install the package from scratch now.

              @sgw I had to do the same I uninstalled reinstalled and it took 2 reboots to get it working

                Topic is quite old, just wanted to add this in case somebody else runs into this issue.
                I fixed it by

                1. SSH into the pfSense box
                2. Run :
                cd /usr/local/etc/squid
                cp mime.conf.sample mime.conf
                

                and I could then start squid from the GUI.
