Multiple VLAN with same IP and gateway?
-
Hi,
I want to split phones from PC layer 2 networks, keeping all on the same current layer 3 configurations all on 192.168.12.0/24 with pfsense LAN gateway 192.168.12.1.
Now I've created VLAN 23 for phones and assigned on mvneta1 on pfsense with no Ipv4/6 configuration (None).
On the HP switch I've done the same and added the membership on the telephone port as Participation: Include and Tagging: Untagged. Now I cannot ping the phone.
What am I missing to allow the phone 192.168.12.10 to reach 192.168.12.1 (Pfsense LAN gatway IP)?
Thanks in advance, BR

@summer I may be misreading but you can't use the same subnet on two interfaces. pfSense won't know where to route the packets.
On the new interface did you add firewall rules? The default for all except LAN is no rules, so "deny all."

Yes I've added an allow all rule and tried the ping from pfsense interface.Thank you @steveits so I need to reconfigure ip addresses.
I believed that Layer 3 and 2 could be separated. Thanks, BR

@summer
solved with:
VLAN PFSENSE IP
1 192.168.1.1
10 192.168.10.1SWITCH PORTS:
PFSENSE AS TRUNK
Device as Untagged 10Then with firewall rules I can allow/disallow traffic.
Thanks, BR
