OpenVPN with 22.05
-
After upgrading to 22.05 my outgoing connections take a long time to connect with some sore of authorization error and if they connect they report 100% packet loss. These connections work fine with 22.01. Let me know what information is need to help get this working.

@royalpro You could start with posting the logs. Redact the last octet or two of your public IPs if they're not public VPNs, there should be no keys or passwords in the logs unless you've jacked up the verbosity really high for testing.

@rcoleman-netgate I'm in a similar boat as RoyalPro. I have two client connections to NordVPN and I'm also seeing 100% packet loss (although it fluctuates occasionally) when the client connection is "Connected (Success)". Things went downhill after 22.05 upgrade on my SG2440. Which verbosity log level would you prefer?

@bartkowski Anything from the OpenVPN log is a great start -- verbosity doesn't matter so much when you're doing level-one troubleshooting

@rcoleman-netgate
A bit of a back story. My upgrade to 22.05 wasn't smooth and I had scrambled to get things working again (wife was upset) with multiple attempts at upgrade, which finally succeeded with a clean install of 22.01 and upgrade to 22.05, after which I restored config from backup. (I think Wireguard package was causing issues - only after removing it did it succeed to upgrade).
Anyway, last night, I restored my config from June 22nd and when pfSense came back up, the VPN connections to Nord were green and 0% packet loss. I'm not going to touch them again today as I'll be away for a few days after that.The reason I don't want to touch the VPN connections in any way is because yesterday they were working and only started giving me issues for the remainder of the day after I restarted one client connection to experiment with setting Data Channel Offload. This was around 11am and I restored my config at 11pm.
It was down for 12 hours, in which it was connected, but 100% packet loss. I tested connecting to other Nord servers in different countries, but the result was the same.
I'll post back here any logs next time I experience the same issue. -
@bartkowski You may want to consider doing a 22.05 install from scratch and then restore your config.
Use the URL in my signature to open a ticket to request the firmware image for your 2440.

@rcoleman-netgate
This was the error I got during one of my latter upgrade attempts of 22.01 > 22.05:/boot/modules/if_wg.ko - unsupported file type
I may reach out for firmware just so I have it for the next upgrade if things go downhill. Thanks for your help!

@bartkowski Try removing WireGuard and then going again.
