Squid Proxy Version 5.6 is rolling on their website questions

Hello fellow Netgate community members,

Can you please help? I just noticed that Squid Proxy has released a new stable version, 5.6 for production use. However, the PfSense package for Squid only shows 4.45_8 as the latest release and will not recognize the update in the PfSense GUI.

Is this something that needs to be updated in the package lists for PfSense?

Is there a reason that PfSense does not run Squid 5?
