Can't ping pfSense/can't access to the configuration page of pfSense
-
I have two virtual machines in virtualbox: pfSense and Linux
Here the network settings:
Linux: - Adapter 1 attached to Nat network named "Topgun network"
pfSense: - Adapter 1 attached to Nat network named "Topgun network"
-Adapter 2 attached to Bridget Adapter name (Realtek RTL8723B Wireless LAN 802.11n USB 2.0 Network Adapter)
pfSense IP:
wan => 192.168.100.9
LAN => 192.168.2.1 (i had to change this IP because 192.168.1.1 is the IP of my home modem)When i try to ping pfSense (ping 192.168.100.9) the terminal show this error:
From 192.168.100.7 icmp_seq=1 Destination Host Unreachable
when i stop the ping process the terminal show that the 100% of the packets is lost
I also tried to ping linux from pfSense and for some reason 100% of the packets is recieved
Also if i go to the pfSense configuration page http://192.168.2.1 the page took too much time to load and at the end it shows an error.
i watched some videos on youtube, i did the same exact passages that were done by the youtubers, i tried to install old version of pfSense, i tried to use an usb wifi adapter, i tried to change IP and Network settings of the machine but no one of this things helped and i can't understand why.
Maybe this is a problem of the computer or there is something else? -
What is 192.168.100.7?
What IP are you pinging from?
Which adapter is that subnet on?
I recommend not using Net networks in VBox unless you have no choice, it makes everything much more complex.
