@veras Installing on what? How long did you wait? Did it eventually error out? Did it point you to a log file?

@derelict No errors. I let it run during the night, so +8 hours. Nothing changed.
It's a bare-metal server. I successfully installed in another machine with the same hardware.
Tried it again today morning and I got this output:

@veras Hmm. I would suspect storage but that's not a lot to go on.

              Hi there,

I've encountered this issue as well installing TNSR 22.10-2 on Supermicro hardware. It seems to be stuck on the DKMS installer process.

Looking at the ubuntu installer shell I'm seeing the DKMS auto installer seemingly stuck in a loop:

              fd794da5-ccc8-42fa-b1ae-497ddb349485-image.png

I'm not sure if there is something specific triggering this but I've seen it happen on different bits of kit in testing - I've left it for some time and it doesn't appear to successfully complete whatever it was attempting to do.

I manually killed the dkms process that appeared to be stuck in the sleep 3 cycle (kill -9 8410) from the screenshot above, and the installer then moved forward to the rest of the steps - setting up swap/networking/fstab and updates etc.

I'm not sure what other info would be helpful here - seems to be quite odd behaviour.

Edit: logs for this issue are a bit of a pain to grab as I'm working over IPMI.

@russellc Related to logs, you can ssh the system installation environment. It will make it easier.

I worked around this issue by installing the old version (22.06) and running an update to 22.10.

Unfortunately, the Netgate support didn't help much.
