EFI ZFS boot issue

Does anyone know if this issue has been addressed that was outlined in the blog? I am stuck at the below when I boot now and must have misinterpreted that the fix was in place when upgrading.
Can't find /boot/zfsloader Freebsd/x86 boot Default: zroot/ROOT/default:/boot/kernel/kernel boot:

I wonder if the upgrade issue with zfs boot drives been fixed ?
Yes, the EFI+ZFS upgrade issue has been fixed for a while. There is a new mechanism which updates the loader during the upgrade process.
"Upgrading in place is broken for systems booting from ZFS volumes using EFI. Do not attempt to upgrade a system with EFI and ZFS at this time. UFS installs are not affected. Fresh installations of ZFS on EFI systems work as expected. We are still investigating the cause."

Can anyone lend some assistance in rolling back on this or how to boot?

I was able to replicate it twice after the reload. If you do a setup with 2.6 on the device, upgrade it to plus pushing it into 22.01, then do the upgrade to 22.05, and finally upgrade to the latest snapshot, I was able to wreck the EFI ZFS booting on the firewall.
