Will pfsense utilize both cores?

I recently built my first pfsense box using a Intel e5200 cpu. Will pfsense automatically utilize both available cores? If not, how do I fix that? I am using one of the latest nanobsd images from your 1.2.3 snapshot server.

Yes, it will use both cores. How fully it will utilize both at the same time depends on exactly what you're doing with it.

I believe pf itself uses the GIANT LOCK, but the rest of the O/S will use both cpus for tasks unrelated directly to pf.
