        @pfsense7515 4094 but it wouldn't be wise adding that many, what's the scenario you need the number for?

        It would be wiser to use a beefy L3 switch TBH.

          4094, however, the hardware and operating systems may support fewer.

            While there is a limit of how many vlan IDs you can have 4000 something.. You sure could not put that many on the same physical interface and expect anything to work..

            What is the speed of the physical interface, how many clients are in each vlan, how much traffic will they produce. Keep in mind your sharing the physical interface with all devices on the vlans.

            So a 10ge interface be able to handle more traffic than a 100mbps interface. Do you have couple of device in each vlan, or 100s of devices? etc. etc.. Are the devices only going to phone home every 24 hours to check for a license - or are they full users trying to stream movies, etc.

              @pfsense7515 You will probably start hitting things like GUI slowness and general unmanageability somewhere around 200-300. There is very likely a better way to deploy such a network other than VLAN interfaces on pfSense.
