Apologies I have been otherwise distracted and not testing betas vigorously.
I don't see much in the roadmap mentioning Realtek. Some people have issues with the hardware, and it is quite easily fixed assuming packages are available. Soo..

      1. Are the realtek packages available for 2.7/23.01?
      2. Do we still have to do manual loading or can it just load like everything else?
      3. Will a bump from 2.6.x > 2.7beta or 22.05>23.01beta bork it? IIRC last time it didn't bork...but who knows? (bork = removing the if_re_load commands in /boot/loader.conf.local, or removing the drivers, or leaving old and busted driver and not installing the bsd 14.x version)

The Realtek kmod pkg is in the 2.7/23.01 repos so you can just pkg install it like anything else.
The custom loader variables in loader.conf.local are retained across an upgrade.
