My Wireguard status under "Services Status", in pfSense Plus shows a red x (Stopped) for its status. The Wireguard service is in fact running without issue. When booting pfSense there is a long pause when starting the service too.

If I uninstall and re-install Wireguard will the Wireguard and peer configurations be maintained? I was wondering about just waiting for 23.01 to see if it just fixes itself.

@dapersico I've been seeing this same thing with the 2.7.0 development releases. I can get the wireguard service to start if I restart dpinger first, but if I just try starting the wireguard service without restarting dpinger it won't come up. However, my site-to-site wireguard tunnel is working just fine before I do any twiddling with the dpinger and wireguard service. I perform this fandango after every 2.7.0 update, although I probably don't need to.

Do you use gateways on your site-site tunnel ? I do and in my case it comes up with the gateways disabled after some reboots.

@mfld Yes, I use gateways. I followed the site-to-site wireguard example in the docs to set it up. After an update, the wireguard gateway show pending and offline until the service is started, despite appearing to work just fine.
