OpenVPN client stops when internet goes down and must be manually restarted
-
When I loose internet the client running under pfsense stops and doesn't restart when internet comes back up. If I look under status it shows stopped. I can manually start it and everything works. How can I make it so it will reconnect when internet is restored?

Try this setting in OpenVPN client:
Endpoint Configuration -> Interface -> anyDid you set WAN there?

@slu After some more searching I found a similar post and solution. Under System>Advanced>Miscellaneous I set
State Killing on Gateway Failure to "Kill states for all gateways that are down" and checked "Do not create rules when gateway is down". That seems to have the desired results. I pulled the plug on the internet for about 10 minutes and plugged it back in and OpenVPN client reconnected. -
@jims Spoke too soon. It now shows it reconnects but all the traffic isn't passed. I can get to one of my PCs through the VPN but can't get to others, even after rebooting pfsense. Thought it was something to do with the other PC so tried another and even a printer than has a web page and no go. Not sure what to check now...
