      Today I did an update from 22.05 to 23.01, surprise afterwards was, that all history data from Traffic Totals was gone.
      Is that by design that the database is lost?

      Regards

        @fsc830 Ive just updated and also noticed this.

        I really like to keep all the data and wish there was a good way to merge all the old backups together to restore this data but I have never found one.

        I don't know why its disappeared but suspect restoring a backup is the only way to get it back.

            Thanks for the answers. Then it seems to be by design. 😢
            Cant remember when updating from 22.01 to 22.05 if the data was also lost.
            Was pretty sure it doesnt... but may I am wrong.

            Regards

              I had the same issue so I did an rollback (easy with pfSense as virtual machine).

              I will try this again with having an backup to restore.

                @overlord just make sure you uncheck ( I think ) the box that says about including the RRD data in the backup.

                The restore will work as I can see the RRD data as XML in the backup.

                I keep trying to work on a tool to get all the data from past backups unique it and sort it out into a new format for the latest backup which would put it all in but getting to what the actual format of data that is stored etc seems to be in a black box somewhere. Always stop at the same point.

                  @hulleyrob
                  Thank you, but I think it should be enough to save the "/var/db/vnstat/vnstat.db".
