Limiting WAN access by ip question
I'm fairly new to pfsense..... I wanted an easy way to access some of my machines via RDP.... I didn't want to open to the entire internet... I hardened the encryption to the max for RDP and changed default listening port.. this may be a silly question... I did limit them so I could access them from a few specific public ip addresses. As far as the rest of the internet... any ip address other than the specific ones.... would they see my firewall as as having closed ports as if port forwarding wasn't turned on at all? Just checking into how safe this is to do. Thanks
As you have restricted rdp access from source certain IP's , a scan on wan ip will come back closed.
You can check yourself - https://www.yougetsignal.com/tools/open-ports/
