If i connect my phone to my pfSense OpenVPN server, i CAN access the pfSense GUI connecting over 4G.

However, if i hotspot my phone and connect my computer to the hotspot, i CANT get to the pfSense GUI, but the computer can access the internet over the vpn. I notice my phone puts my computer on a different LAN network 192.168.100.x, but i dont understand why that would stop my computer from being able to go to the pfSense GUI when the phone can access it.

OpenVPN was setup with wizard and is using the standard allow all firewall rule the wizard creates.

@1-21gigawatts What IP does your phone get when connected to OpenVPN via the hotspot? What does the firewall rules show? You see traffic making it to your pfsense?

        Firewall: NetGate 6100/7100U, Palo Alto
        Routing: Juniper MX204 , Arista 7050X3
        Switching: Juniper EX/QFX. Arista 7050SX
        Wireless: Unifi, Aruba IAP

Oh i think i see the problem.
The public IP for computer on phone hotspot is not matching the home IP. The computer shows 4g IP, while the phone has the same IP as my home ISP.

So it looks like hotspot is not passing traffic over OpenVPN.

How can i fix this? I thought i had configured all traffic to be forced over vpn, but obviously not.

To send all traffic out of the tunnel check off the Redirect IPv4 Gateway under Tunnel settings.

@1-21gigawatts Does the hotspot network overlap with the OpenVPN server network you created?
