2 OpenVPN interfaces in FW Rules
Hello, I have installed and configured an OpenVPN service and it is has working fine for the last week or so. Yesterday I was using it and noticed that my Firewall Rules now have 2 Open VPN interfaces. Upon my initial setup and successful configuration there was only one. I do have 2 Dynamic DNS clients, but I'm only using one, and they were both setup when I had only 1 OpenVPN Interface?
What did I do to create a second Open VPN Interface?
(When I was connected to the VPN I could see that only one interface was passing traffic. )
Yesterday I was using it and noticed that my Firewall Rules now have 2 Open VPN interfaces.
On the firewall rules page you can see an OpenVPN tab. This is an interface group, which includes all OpenVPN instances running on your pfSense. It is implicitly added by pfSense, when firing up an OpenVPN instance, either a server or a client.
Possibly you have assigned an interface additionally to the OpenVPN server? If so and you called it even "OpenVPN " you should change its name for the sake of clarity.
Check out Status > Interfaces, this shows all real interfaces.
I thought it might create an instance in Firewall Rules when I was connected via the VPN, but when I connect via my home network there are still 2 Open VPN interfaces In the Firewall Rules. When I look at the Status Interface page, as well as my Interface Assignments page, I have only one Open VPN interface.
