      Hello,

I just installed PfBlockerNG as I am under DDOS atack and to my misery I am unable to make GeoIP to work. Licences generated on maxmind website are not accepted. I found some tips on removing prefix and sufix - this is accepted but on the update log i can see /usr/local/share/GeoIP/GeoLite2-Country.tar.gz 401 Unauthorized

Any idea how to fix it? Thanks.

@mberezinski see thread https://www.reddit.com/r/pfBlockerNG/comments/11tswx0/maxmind_license_key_invalid/. It seems MaxMind changed the license key format.

Pre-2.7.2/23.09: Only install packages for your version, or risk breaking it. Select your branch in System/Update/Update Settings.
When upgrading, allow 10-15 minutes to restart, or more depending on packages and device speed.

Thanks! You're saving my life here.

Also, that proves that either I'm not great at searching for stuff on Google or that Google is doomed as soon as ChatGPT gains access to current internet data.

But that is only true for NEW maxmind license keys? Correct!!!

I am using pfBlockerNG on pfSense 2.6 CE and I have NO issues with the old Maxmind license keys.

@jdeloach Yes, only new keys. Anyway, patching validation method from the links above worked like a charm.
