Increase in stalkerware over Android Smartphones
-
I have noticed over the last 4 weeks a massive increase in the amount of stalkerware that is running in the background. I wanted to inform others. Per California Privacy Law CCPA we have privacy rights. The stalkerware runs nonstop with the smartphone even in sleepmode, and or when the primary Brower is not running. These platforms describe themselves as advertising platforms. However, the platform is runing 24 hours a day and 7 days a week with its own socket. I have even emailed them to request being removed from their "custom advertising analytics" platform. They gave me a basic response to turn on do not track on my phone. This of course has already been done.
The platforms causing this issue are:
apploving
applvin
urbanairship
airship
moengageAll have been blocked on my network. I have attempted to ask them to remove the software and called them, moengage office does not exist, they are using a law firm office for their website to mask who they are. Its not their real address.
Moengage was reported to California via the website that handles webtraffic privacy abuses like this under PIU 1024571 if you are also experiencing this also, please ref this number when you report it also. I feel this is a data sovereignty issue. Make sure you also contact the websites before submission most likely they will delete the software and offboard you from the app.
This is not you normal advertising software, this is a platform that runs non stop 24/7 collecting data from devices. I keep singing the McDonalds Jingle when I see it in the firewall ....Dadadaaaaa app loving it. Let's agree that's the point to mask it with entertaining names so that reporting issues like this are not believable.
