      When attempting to change the default gateway, I encountered an error message displaying "Could not kill states."

        I can't reproduce that here. How were you changing it? To or from a static or DHCP gateway? Gateway group? Something else? Do you have anything unusual set, like pf disabled?

        The only place that string is found is in the pfSense module function pfSense_kill_states(), and that is called there, but it's not clear why it would be failing to kill states.

          @jimp I did a reboot and I can't reproduce it now. I was changing the default gateway from a gateway group to a VPN interface.
