I would like to load the drive with an external m.2 viewer on a Windows machine. But I can't view the config.xml file. What is an easy way of doing this? Tried to load it into Ubuntu and Debian already as well with no luck

@korr2221 Is it a pfSense VM? if so, start over, create new VM, install pfSense and restore the backup configuration you have instead of trying to read it.

@korr2221 I think you’re looking for https://docs.netgate.com/pfsense/en/latest/backup/restore.html#restoring-by-mounting-the-disk but it doesn’t have many details except to use FreeBSD (on which pfSense is based).

Pre-2.7.2/23.09: Only install packages for your version, or risk breaking it. Select your branch in System/Update/Update Settings.
When upgrading, allow 10-15 minutes to restart, or more depending on packages and device speed.
