    I have a physical ssd m.2 hd with pfsense installed that got corrupted.

      I would like to load the drive with an external m.2 viewer on a Windows machine. But I can't view the config.xml file. What is an easy way of doing this? Tried to load it into Ubuntu and Debian already as well with no luck

        @korr2221 Is it a pfSense VM? if so, start over, create new VM, install pfSense and restore the backup configuration you have instead of trying to read it.

          @korr2221 I think you’re looking for https://docs.netgate.com/pfsense/en/latest/backup/restore.html#restoring-by-mounting-the-disk but it doesn’t have many details except to use FreeBSD (on which pfSense is based).

          Only install packages for your version, or risk breaking it. Select your branch in System/Update/Update Settings.
          When upgrading, allow 10-15 minutes to reboot, or more depending on packages, and device or disk speed.
