Open vpn now connected but no internet visible
-
Had major problem all day with sudden loss of vpn connection (Nordvpn)
Finally reconnected (needed to use new username and password from Nordvpn client page)
Reconnected ok BUT now there’s no internet on my usual ports or WiFi which was fine before
Nothing else has been changed - just username and password - can ping from pfsense box but that’s just straight to internet not via VPN - has been running fine for years and have forgotten all I learnt to set it up
Any ideas? Thanks -
@fin1000 try disabling the nat rule and re-enabling it before connecting. Or check the NAT rule
interface ovpn(optx) source 192.168.0.0 (Lan) dest Any and save. -

You can chose the outgoing interface :
Also, because "things didn't work any more" you might have changed something totally not related while trying to make it work again, but that might now break the connection (as we all tend do try stuff before we really know the issue == the solution).
Go to the console or SSH.
Use option 15.
Use 1 - list the backups, and take the one made just before the VPN went down.
Retrieve that one. When done (rebooted etc) : go to the VPN client page, set up the right password and user.
Done.
It should connect now, and work.It still doesn't work ? Go to Nord support forum ..... and you'll find out the "others things they have changed without telling you" and handle as instructed.

Thanks guys useful info!
Didn’t realise ping was changeable to interface as it’s came up as auto - but never clicked it to reveal the rest (dumb I guess)
Did the reset to previous config just in case - didn’t help but after a few hours an few reboots without changing anything everything started working again so assuming there was a problem at the remote server end tho it was over many different countries and servers and the phone Nordvpn app was ok all the time - tho that’s running IKEv2 not upd OpenVPN if that changes anything - so who knows
