Openvpn slow after 2.7 ce update
-
After updating to Pfsense 2.7CE from 2.6CE the openvpn download speeds have drop from 250mbps i was getting on the 2.6 version to anywhere between 60mbps/110mbps. i am using the same configuration as i was on the 2.6 version which worked
flawlessly
I have even reinstalled the 2.7 version to see if that would fix the problem but the same slower speeds reoccurred
so i have gone back to the 2.6 version & again openvpn download speeds are back to 250mbps so i am going to continue using the 2.6 version for as long as i possible
I was wondering if anyone else as the same problem or is there a way to fix the 2.7 version -
@harry63 Same issue here, have made several setting changes with no improvements.

@philbio I've gone back to the 2.6 version & again openvpn is working flawlessly back to speeds of 200-250mbps,
I installed 2.7 on a old desktop that's as a half decent CPU, put the same configuration as I have on the hp t620 plus now , the openvpn speeds were excellent 250 Mbps, so it as to be that t620 plus isn't man enough to handle good openvpn speeds on the 2.7 version.
I'm not going to use the old desktop for pfsense because of the energy consumption, that's why I use t620 plus it costs pennies to run -
@harry63 said in Openvpn slow after 2.7 ce update:
I'm running a dedicated i5-7200U CPU @ 2.50GHz, machine is running at 30% utilization, with 2.6 I could max out my connection where as 2.7 I can only achieve 75% of the connection.

@philbio On the old desktop I installed the 2.7 version on today the CPU is a Intel Core i5-4570TE (2.7GHz) LGA1150, when I was doing a speed test the CPU guage in the gui never went above 10%
