      I'm having issues configuring the firewall in this setup.
      Modem is a simple cable in ethernet out. The firewall is pfsense.
      The Orbi Pro Router is connecting to 6 satellites and 1 access point to cover the area.

      We are experiencing a bit of DOS that the Orbi is handling but I would rather get that traffic looked after before the Orbi.

      I can't seem to get the pfsense to allow proper connection in or out.
      I have the modem coming in on the WAN port for pfsense then going out on the LAN pfsense to the WAN of the Orbi Pro. All the satellites are ethernet back haul configured. This system is working well. Does anyone have a similar configuration they could share their cofig or advise.
      Thanks

        @dsfishin Many cable modems tend to latch on to a MAC address, hence try powering off the cable modem when you swap in the pfSense.

        Otherwise, going to need lots more detail on what’s not working.

        Pre-2.7.2/23.09: Only install packages for your version, or risk breaking it. Select your branch in System/Update/Update Settings.
        When upgrading, allow 10-15 minutes to restart, or more depending on packages and device speed.

          @SteveITS
          That's interesting as I did notice the ip from the modem to the router was 72..... pfsense saw it as 50....
          I will try power cycling the modem first.
          Thanks for the info.
