      Anyone else seeing IPv4 pings using IPv6 ?

        iam not seening this problem, but we habe disabled ipV6

          Ah its the automatically selected interface that appears to be causing it, if I pick an interface it works as expected.

          It would appear that a ping with the source address set to auto uses ping rather than ping4 or ping6 regardless of what the IP protocol is set to.

            Was about to post @me-too
            As I was also selecting “auto select interface”, as I consider this a “don’t care” choice, and was a bit surprised that my selected “IPv4” gets overridden as pfSense prefers IPV6 part of my WAN (?)
