      Hi,

Is it somehow possible to create multiple virtual interfaces on a physical port with its own mac addresses?

I can get multiple ip addresses assigned from my isp over dhcp and today i am running a switch in front of pfsense using multiple physical ports. But it would have been really nice to free up the ports and ditch the switch.

      Thanks, Erik

@kowi - would setting up virtual IP addresses (VIPs) work in your situation?

        Hope this helps.

No. The MAC address is determined by the hardware. Also, how are you setting up those interfaces? VLANs? Virtual IP?

          I haven't lost my mind. It's around here...somewhere...
