@w0w just be careful with this new build. It did not go well for me and others here. Maybe you'll have better luck then we did. I'd wait until the next one to give it a try.

Yea, I just found this early morning. My firewalls were up and working but when I looked into console I found that there is no more menu and some 'cannot open /etc/rc.be_functions.sh missing' error also. I've rebooted and this resulted in /etc/rc not found and no internet . Just did reset and then selected previous boot environment. Now up and running. -
@w0w I encountered the same issue as you with the same method of recovery.

We were working through some transitioning to slightly different packaged builds that had a few rough patches. They should all be resolved now as of
23.09.a.20230920.1314.If you got dropped to a shell at boot and it won't proceed, try the procedure I mentioned over on https://forum.netgate.com/post/1126533
