I have the webConfigurator port set to 9443. I can access it no problem from the LAN.
On the WAN, I have a rule allowing access to "This Firewall" from a few selected IP address. When I try to connect on the WAN I get a connection error in the browser. A packet capture shows that pfSense is sending a TCP RST in response to the incoming TCP packet.
I don't have any NAT defined on port 9443.

      What am I missing?

Never mind. Went back over my alias with a fine tooth comb and found a typo.
In case you are wondering 6 <> 7.
        Doh!

Glad you figured it out, personally I would still use a VPN for access instead of doing it over WAN but if you're filtering for specific IPs then should be fine.
