      Hello,

I am reaching out to seek guidance on reconfiguring the ports on my Netgate 8200. Specifically, I would like to change the 10-gigabit WAN port to a LAN port, and the 2.5-gigabit LAN port to a WAN port.

      Thanks

@newish ok - all that you do to make a "lan' is give an IP and don't set a gateway. For a wan give it a gateway, be it yo set that - or it gets it say via dhcp from your Isp.

The thing that makes a "lan" interface is no gateway.. The thing that makes a "wan" interface is a gateway.

@newish Along those lines you can assign the physical ports however you wish. You may consider making a temporary third interface to connect on, to do this. Or one can use the console.

Pre-2.7.2/23.09: Only install packages for your version, or risk breaking it. Select your branch in System/Update/Update Settings.
When upgrading, allow 10-15 minutes to restart, or more depending on packages and device speed.
