In the official 1.2.3RC3 build my Atheros 5416 is not recognized anymore.

In the 1.2.3RC3 build from 22-sept-2009 I get:
      ath0: <atheros 5416="">mem 0x40000000-0x4000ffff irq 18 at device 9.0 on pci2

With the official RC3 I get:
      pci2: <network>at device 9.0 (no driver attached)</network></atheros>

Many people had problems with the wireless version from FreeBSD 7.2, so it was backed down to an earlier patch level.

Apparently, that also took some hardware support with it. I'm not sure if that is something that can be easily addressed or what. You should be fine running the snapshot, really. Most of the other bugs fixed in 1.2.3 were edge cases and things most people were not encountering.

We had to back down because of instabilities in the newer driver. If the existing versions work fine for you and you have an ath card that isn't supported anymore, don't upgrade until we have a FreeBSD 8 based 2.0 released. Everyone with an ath card that is supported should upgrade.

What is the latest snapshot that still has the new driver included?

              Current network "hardware" :
              Running 2.2RC in Virtualbox 4.2.16.

              Retired:
ALIX2C2 , 4 gigabyte disk cf card running 2.0 (official release).

                  Thanks chpalmer,
Do you happen to have that kind of wireless card?

One more question is there any info about 5413 chipset?
I think I have 5416 (not 100% sure) but currently with RC2 build it is recognized as 5413 so does it mean my card will continue to be recognized?
In other words is there some list of supported atherod chipsets with the current driver (the one in the RC3)?

                  Current network "hardware" :
                  Running 2.2RC in Virtualbox 4.2.16.

The final release will be basically identical to RC3, it's good.

The FreeBSD version didn't change, just 7.2 with 7.1's ath driver plus a patch from Sam Leffler.

Get one off the snapshot server from early-mid September.
