Possible Minor Bug: User-selected sort column not maintained after automatic refresh
-
@jhg I too am seeing this on the latest version. Probably worth filling out a redmine for it.
-
@planedrop Done https://redmine.pfsense.org/issues/15180
-
Awesome, thanks!
-
@planedrop It was closed as Not A Bug, a decision with which I disagree. This is a limitation of the library being used and is a UI problem that should be fixed.
-
@jhg I agree, I guess it's really minor but yeah should be something that is addressed IMO.
-
Anyone try the NTP Status page sorting? Near immediate reset to initial sort order. Totally unfriendly.
-
@DeLiver Do you mean NTP logs or status? Status, for most setups, should be a super short list.
Or maybe I'm misunderstanding?

Status, as stated. Short list or no, it's an annoyance.
-
@planedrop The problem occurs on any page that auto-updates and also provides sorting by different columns. It's more than a minor annoyance, and should be relatively easy to fix. This doesn't happen globally across the Internet, just on pfSense.
-
@jhg I mean, I really don't consider it more than a minor issue, it's not a huge problem by any means IMO.
Additionally though, if it's such an easy thing to fix, this is open source, why don't you fix it? By that I mean, maybe it's not as easy as it seems, many times that's how software development works, fixing something that is small can take tons of time and break other things.
I still agree this does need to be addressed, but it would not be on the top of my list either.

@DeLiver I'll test again, so far it hasn't done it for me on the NTP status page though, which is only 3 entries long for me.
