Forum seems sluggish?
-
Same thing happening here.
-
Can confirm the same issue. Started for me about two days ago or so.
When clicking on new unread posts, I sometimes get a pregnant pause blank page with the little fast-spinning circle icon in the upper right corner of the page header.
-
@bmeeks yeah could of started a couple of days ago - but what is funny is currently it seems to be better.
-
@fireodo said in Forum seems sluggish?:
you have lost connection to netgate forum
Same here, but this it not new.
Message today after I tried to send a pm:
ERROR Bad Gateway
Works fine again after some seconds...
-
@fireodo
Same here -
Connecting from France, so I'm somewhat used to "several seconds of delay", but true, simply hitting 'reply' on a post makes me wait more then usual before the editor opens.
-
@Gertjan its more than that.. Something is off for sure.. Normally for me here in the states its pretty snappy interface.. But now things that use to just pop either have to be clicked twice, or they are delayed, etc..
The box that says your disconnected/connected that pops up now and then flashes quickly sometimes.. And seeing this little green check mark show up saying connected..But notifications don't actually show up.. have to click it again, or wait long time for them to populate.
if reply/quote something - there is a very noticeable delay, or have to click again to be able to reply..
Something for sure is off.. And its not my connection - because no other site I frequent is showing any sort of issues.. Where sure it could be my path to negate having some congestion issues or something.. But does seem like multiple people are noticing problems.. Sure they will sort it out here soon enough..
@stephenw10 is pretty good on checking into this sort of thing.. Maybe he can share some info?
-
@johnpoz I am encountering the same thing from Regina Canada via Access Communications my ISP. Only this forum access is sluggish.

@tedquade
I have to confirm this issue. The connection is lost several times a minute.
When reading a thread, new postings don't feed automatically. It needs to reload the page.
Also to respond, I have to reload the page fist after a connection outage.
Sometimes I get an error, when sending a post. -
Yes, I'm seeing this for a day or so. Let me check......
-
Ok, that should be better. Let us know if you're still seeing issues.
-
@stephenw10 ok quick check it does seem to be better..
What was annoying me the most was clicking the menu would take a couple of clicks to get it to show.. I would get the left, then click it a few times before the menu would show (on the right) in my picture.
But now it seems better.. And just jumping around to different posts and sections seems to be coming up better.. I will let you know after further use ;)
Thanks!
edit: maybe I spoke too soon, still seeing flashes of that not connected box.. And just went to call up another thread and there was some noticeable delay.
-
@stephenw10
Yes, seems to behave normal again now.I saw "connection lost" only once within 20 minutes, and after that I could respond without an issue.
-
@johnpoz What is that orange bar where refresh should be also... is that is still occurring for you too??
-
@johnpoz
It is slow for me to come up. But then seems to work ok. -
Sorry for bringing it up again...but I keep getting disconnected. At least the info box "it seens like ..." pops up quite more often than usually. Also it is "slower"...being in Europe, Germany. Other sites show no such behavior.
-
Yup, some further tweaks were made. Seems OK now. We are monitoring it.
-
What about this....
The orange bar should be a refresh icon right?
-
@JonathanLee yeah that is not how it use to be.. It use to have text in it, that said something like view new items or there new stuff or something..
That little yellow/orange thing without any text is not very informative to what it means.
-
problem with your internet connection
Maybe. But several speed tests, based in Los Angles, Dallas, New York, and San Francisco give me 700 Mbits /sec or more.
So, whatever the issue is, probably not my local connection, neither the ISP, neither the Atlantic intercontinental connection.
