      Hello,

      I am new pfSense user and I have some basic question about installation.
      I don't understand how to configure network.

      This is my infrastructure :
      my internet box : IP 172.16.0.2
      my router/VPN (Express VPN) : IP 10.184.16.2
      my VM pfSense : IP 10.184.16.4
      my VM AD : IP 10.184.16.6

      I installed pfSense on a VM, hosted on an ESXi and I added a second network card on the VM.
      On the ESXi I added a second Standard virtual Switch with label "LAN" and a second Port group with label "LAN".
      This "LAN" port group has been added by selecting the virtual Switch "LAN” created previously.

      When I boot the pfSense I see 2 network cards : 1 LAN and 1 WAN.
      I configured a static IP on the LAN and I can logon on the pfSense web interface.

      My question is : which IP address must I set on the WAN network card? I don't understand which IP I must set.

      Thanks

        @SolPain

        A WAN address is usual DHCP. I guess you want to place pfSense behind Express VPN, so it would be one of 10.184.16.x and you need to select another subnet for pfSense LAN and AD.
