        What version are you running?

Why are you trying to force upgrade repoc?

What does pkg-static -d update show?

@stephenw10 Idk why, but when in unbound resolver set outgoing interface to localhost update not working but have internet, when set back to wan start working. pfSense version 23.09.1. Using openvpn and manual NAT rule to openvpn interface.

Do you have automatic outbound NAT still enabled? Is it generating rules for localhost as source?

Ok and WAN is the default route?

There is no rule for localhost on MULLVARD so Unbound can't use that if it's sourcing fro localhost.

An outbound NAT rule exactly like the one you have on WAN for localhost.

However with WANGW as the default that should be the default route. Unbound should try to use that.

Is it running in forwarding mode?

What DNS servers are configured if so?

If they are the Mulvard servers and have static routes over the VPN then it will always use that. That should work as long the VPN is up.
