i have a flat network and a PC with 2 network cards and PFsense that does the routing. The WAN card acts as dhcp client to the upstream provider. The LAN card has the IP address 192.168.0.1/24 and dhcp server is enabled. Port address translation is enabled in the WAN port. Nothing fancy a simple, straight forward config so the LAN can access the Internet.

I am not really experienced with PFsense and i would like to secure my network (especially attacks from the WAN). I would appreciate any help available please.

Secure your network with PFsense by configuring strict WAN firewall rules, disabling unused services, and enabling IDS/IPS. Keep PFsense updated, use VPN for remote access, and implement strong passwords. Enable logging and educate users on security. Consider VLANs and additional measures based on network needs.
