Gateway Monitoring

Is there any way to do gateway monitoring with a hostname? I have a hostname that returns multiple DNS entries, and I would like to use them interchangeably as the monitor address. I could configure one of these as the monitor IP, but I think it would be a more robust solution to use all of them interchangably.
