pfSense+ 24.03 - wireguard works despite dashboard report it stopped

Strange issue since upgrade from 23.x to 24.03 : wireguard works as before, but strangely the dashboard report wiregard service as stopped and the wireguard status page show the icon to start it as if stopped. Yet, trafic flows through the tunnel.
I had to remove it from my service watchdog configuration because it repeatedly was telling me it was found stopped and restarted it!
