Re: PFSense - Deliver IPv6 over OpenVPN Tunnel

I am experiencing a similar to the one reported above.

I have OpenVPN setup on a VM and I use it to remote into my own network when I am away or overseas. I do not use it for anything else, therefore I only have a WAN interface on pfsense. My OpenVPN setup with IPv4 works really fine. My ISP now has a dual-stack environment so I requested and was assigned an static IPv6 with a AAAA:BBBB:CCCC::1/48 prefix and after setting up the DHCP-DP in Native mode in the ISP router, all my home devices also get an IPv6, so I thought I would add it to OpenVPN. But here's where I am stuck.

I have enabled all IPv6 in the firewall, OpenVPN rules, etc. My ISP confirmed I can split the /48 into /64 subnets and that they do not have any restriction in doing this.

I notied my home router allocates AAAA:BBBB:CCCC:0::/64 addressess to all home devices.

On the OpenVPN server settings I have:

      • Added the subnet AAAA:BBBB:CCCC:1111::/64 in the IPv6 Tunnel Network on the Tunnel settings on the OpenVPN server.
      • Enabled both gateway creation on the
      • Protocols are all setup to work on IPv6.
      • Redirect IPv6 Gateway
Even though the VPN connection from my mobile phone and other devices works, traffict does not work on the IPv6 tunnel.

I am not sure what else I am missing to make it work. All I want is to be able to connect remotely from my personal devices to my home network and get IPv6 working via the VPN.

Appreciate any advice on what I can do or check further to make it work.
