I recently moved and got a new ISP. I used to get 300Mb but purchased a 2GB fiber plan at this new spot. I created a few VLANs since moving and ever since then I have noticed that Snort will crash occasionaly and memory consumption is consistently above 70%. Snort is only active on 1 interface, WAN.

What could be causing these issues?

      Version 24.03-RELEASE (arm64)

      System SG-1100

Perhaps to small for such high load?

@Dobby_ The thought has crossed my mind, although the 1100 has served me well for a couple of years now. how much more demand could a few more VLANs add? I offloaded most packages that were under utilized.
Is there some sort of guide i can follow to see if im actually overloading my box with multiple VLANs?
Is there a reccomendation on the limits of each piece of official hardware?

Im running this box in a work-from-home, not too crazy home labby environment. If the need for an upgrade were to arise, and I would want to roll my own, as opposed to going with another netgate appliance, would i lose my current pfsense plus license? is there a way to transfer it since i still own the appliance?

As I am informed the license is bounded to the hardware that means to the device.
If you have 2 devices you own two licences and both will be able be upgraded
with no extra cost on top of it.

So if you are buying a appliance from negate you get the license on top of it
and if you run it let us say 5 years, you saved $129 each year that you would
pay if you go with your own hardware. So there should be nothing bad buying
after several years another appliance from Netgate the other one you could
try for testing out things or plain as a spare.
