I moved my setup from OpenVPN to Wireguard and no matter what, WG just wasn't working.

I HAD TO DELETE the entire OVPN setup (not just disable it) and after I did that, WG worked perfectly with no changes.

If you have ANY OVPN stuff on your pfSense box, delete it if you plan on using WG.

@JustAnotherUser I have WG and OpenVPN tunnels on at least 6 pfSense boxes. All work perfectly.

Like Jarhead.. I too have OpenVPN running and WG on my primary box.. What I believe you mean is that you have to delete the OpenVPN instances associated with the same link however I myself only disabled my OpenVPN instances as I moved them over to Wireguard and had no issues..

I will eventually move all mine over and will pay attention to the process a little closer in case I have issues.

            overlapping subnet?

Pre-2.7.2/23.09: Only install packages for your version, or risk breaking it. Select your branch in System/Update/Update Settings.
When upgrading, allow 10-15 minutes to restart, or more depending on packages and device speed.

did you save your config before trying to add the wireguard VPN? If so load the old config and reboot your system to get back to a known working router with OpenVPN.

              Try again next week.

I run both wireguard and openvpn servers and clients simultaneously.
