Route to gateway www.webgui.nokiawifi.com?
-
Hello,
I was just looking at the routing table diagnostics while troubleshooting my failover setup and noticed the first rule in the IPv4 route table is:
default www.webgui.nokiawifi.com UGS 5 1500 igb2
There is another route near the bottom of the table:
www.webgui.nokiawifi.com link#3 UHS 10 1500 igb2
Do these have something to do with the pfsense webgui? I don’t have any Nokia devices and I’m sure I’ve never modified the route table to include these.
Has anyone seen this before?
Thanks,
— Jason

@jstaczek
It's obviously your default gateway. Did you get it from your ISP via DHCP or PPPoE?Since you have checked "Resolve names", pfSense looks up for host name for the used IP.

Thank you. Unchecking “Resolve names” I see it is indeed just my default gateway, 192.168.12.1.
TMOBILE_DHCP Tier 1 (IPv4) TMOBILE 192.168.12.1 192.168.12.1 Interface TMOBILE_DHCP Gateway
So, ok. Somewhere DNS believes that www.webgui.nokiawifi.com.

I guess, this is, what your DNS resolver gets. It might be requesting your ISP router, or the router does intercepting DNS.
