      Hi,

I tried to add some lists (for example: LINK), but at update I get this Error Message:

      [ blocklistproject_ads ] Downloading update .. 200 OK
      [PFB_FILTER - 17] Failed or invalid Mime Type: [text/x-file|0]

      What can I do?

      (pfBlockerNG -- 3.2.0_10)

        PFB_FILTER - 17

        Can't do anything with that.
        Hummm..
        I can do this.
        So can you.

On the first search result you can see that you're not the first one asking this question ;)

The only thing you can do :

        1. Get the URL
        2. Get the domain name.
        3. Use the domain name to get the owner.
        4. Contact the ownwer - the 'site admin' and ask him to do something about it.

or : do what we do : wait it out.

No "help me" PM's please. Use the forum, the community will thank you.
Edit : and where are the logs ??

It seems to be an "normal" txt-file, but it does not work. So, maybe something can be done on
          pfBlockerNG-side...

            Ah, ?!

            The first link : pfBlockerNG-devel v3.1.0_7 / v3.1.0_14

            isn't deleted for me ...

Could be that the encoding of the file is using something that isn't recognized.

remember that pfBlocker does not endorse what so ever. It contains a list with potential l DNSBL and IP lists that, at time, worked fine.
As these lists are maintained by people like you and me, all these can change at any time without notice neither obligation. It's "free" after all.
Like : if it works, fine, if not, go elsewhere.

If pfBlockerng needed to be modified for every feed that comes up, goes away, errors out, or any other reason, bbcan77 would become 'nuts' (and because pfBlockerng is free, he will abandon right away, thus solving the problem at it roots ^^ ).

Btw : what you could do : download the list yourself. Its just a file after all.
Open the file, and discover why it fails.
Now, save the file local, and tell pfBlockerng to use that file for the moment.

                At least you know

                370ba859-89cd-48d6-ad09-a3ad6e0354c3-image.png

so your not the only one using (were using) that feed.

Anyway, still stands : feeds come and go 'as they please'.
You, or pfBlockerng can't do anything about it.

Btw : you use a Google chrome whatever browser ?
And yes, Google, decides what you see, and when, and we all love that ;)

I don't see that you have actually provided the URL for the source of the list.

Would it happen to be this ? I'm guessing - yes.

                  https://github.com/blocklistproject/Lists/blob/master/ads.txt

then you need to use this URL for the download

                  https://raw.githubusercontent.com/blocklistproject/Lists/refs/heads/master/ads.txt

                  Seems to load as expected..

                  [ blacklistproject_ads ] Downloading update .. 200 OK.

Fair enough, but I would never click on the word "LINK" to see where it might go. 😇
better if you just show the link you are using.

Anyway glad you are working. All good.

@Beerman I stumbled upon this same error on a dozen er so feeds when I recently upgraded to 24.03. Mr BBcan177 posted a temporary workaround on https://forum.netgate.com/topic/187931/pfblockerng-v3-2-0_10-unable-to-download-txt-blocklists until the next stable or long term fix is implemented. Editing /usr/local/pkg/pfblockerng/pfblockerng.inc file around line #259, added a line in the list of mime types adding

                        'text/x-file',

and then running an Update>Force>Reload ALL takes care of this error for now until if pfBlockerNG package version 3.2.0_10 is re-installed, it does survive reboots

                          Yes, thx! :) That worked!

I hope this will also be permanently implemented in one of the next versions.

@Beerman Some form of fix will be but may be in a different area or dependency package that pfBlockerNG uses. That line wasn't present in 3.2.0_8 and earlier versions of the pfblockerng.inc so I'm assuming something had changed in the magic database file(s) that's used to determine mime types. I have a similar error on feed PRI4_v4 - CCT_IP_v4 https://cybercrime-tracker.net/fuckerz.php that is coming up invalid Mime Type application/javascript, while the same feed is working fine on my CE VMs on pfBlockerNG 3.2.0_8. Tried adding a line with 'application/javascript' but that didn't do anything for it specifically
