Will switching from AES-NI to QAT drop my VPNs?

Using both site to site and remote access VPNs using OpenVPN on pfsense+.
Dashboard says AES-NI is active. QAT is supported but inactive.
I'm guessing if I switched on production routers that my VPNs would all drop? Do I need to wait for downtime and switch the setting on satellites then change at HQ?
