Kea DCHP error
-
That message is mostly informational, it's not an error in this case.
-
@marcosm So, can be ignore?
-
I assume Kea is actually still handing out leases?
Are the leases being added to Unbound? The hosts can be resolved?
-
Yes, kea2unbound also triggers on Kea events that may not necessitate it.
-
It's not kea that is complaining.
Its a new process, most probably made by Netgate, called kea2unbound which handles the transport of known active dhcp leases host name into into unbound.This process is probably set up and run when the kea (dhcp) server process is (re) starts.
The file exist ?
It a socket file created by kea and needed by kea2unbound so t can talks to the kea dhcp server process.
It isn't there (kea dhcp is running ?) so kea2unbound complains. -

By any chance, is this kea2unbound visible in the public pfSense github repository ?
-
It's internal only atm. It could be in a 2.8 release but I don't have details to share yet.
-
@stephenw10 yes
-
Yes to all three questions?
Then probably a harmless, if ugly, warning if so.
-
It's benign. Just ignore it, I will tune for the next release.

Not sure if my 4100 can use 2.8, I'm using 24.03.
I'm planning to switch to 24.11 RC next week.
