Yesterday I had to uninstall squid but I noticed that the entry still appears in the menu even though the service is no longer active. If I click on the item however you see this error message:

Warning: fopen(/usr/local/pkg/squid.xml): failed to open stream: No such file or directory in /etc/inc/xmlparse.inc on line 158 Error: could not open XML input

I rebooted the system a couple of times but the entry continues to remain on the menu. I'm using release 1.2.3-rc3

If you reinstall squid does the error go away?

What about if you then uninstall it one more time?

Sounds like some of the package configuration information is still stuck in the config and isn't being removed.

It 'was my mistake, as you can see in the screenshot below I just uninstalled squid proxy server but the entry related to Proxy Server is still present and active. If you click on here is the error message:

After I updated the page, the entry and the error disappeared.
