When configuring a site to site VPN using WireGuard do I need to specify the MSS & MTU values at both ends or just the client end? I have read that the server will set itself in accordance with the values specified by the WG client.

I see the WG client shows the MTU value of 1420 correctly

However the WG server still shows an MTU value of 1500

I am not sure if the I/O errors are a problem I should be looking into or not. I originally had connectivity issues using the defaults and set MSS to 1380 and MTU to 1420 and everything works well now.
