Safesearch blocking all images on Pixabay
-
Hello all! I'm pulling my hair out with this one. With safesearch enabled, it completely blocks all images on Pixabay. I've whitelisted Pixabay (.pixabay.com and .cdn.pixabay.com) and still coming up with the same results. All images load fine with safesearch disabled. Any help is greatly appreciated!

With safesearch enabled
Safesearch enabled by itself does nothing.
It's what you've selected (see green arrow) that decides what happens.
So, basically, "Pixabay" decides for you what their usage conditions are, and you have to use a DNS chosen by them so you can use it.
You know why do this, don't look for it, it's easy : it's an $ or € question ^^So, it"s more like you have to make a choice, you can't have both.
If you want to use Pixas services, you have to use it with their imposed DNS servers. You could, of course, find out which item in the "DoH/DoT/DoQ Blocking List" should go unchecked.
Don't forget to post back here which one it was ^^

Are you sure about that? Enabling safesearch adds a CNAME record to unbound :local-zone: "pixabay.com" redirect local-data: "pixabay.com 300 IN CNAME safesearch.pixabay.com"
How does playing whack-a-mole with DoH/DoT/DoQ fix the issue? Sorry I'm just trying to understand and I guess it's over my head. Thanks very much for your help!
edit: after writing that it occurred to me I could just remove that entry from pfb_dnsbl.safesearch.conf. That worked and images now load. I'm not too worried about the kids finding that site for inappropriate images, but I still would like to figure out exactly what was going wrong.

Hummm. You have a point.
I somehow manged to mix-up this :with :
which isn't really related.
Btw : enabling safesearch does effect "Pixabay".
