25.03.b.20250409.2208 Sudden Weird Issue with Kernel Queu overflow
-
This beta was super stable for me until now. Then I lost access to UI but firewall was still routing in the background and internet connection was working.
I have tried to reboot via shell but this did not help. I am not even sure if it even successfully rebooted since the uptime was still showing 2d.
Until I have restarted GUI and PHP-FPM, I could not load the web interface.
Tried to restart HAproxy from the UI but it was always timing out. Then I stopped the HAproxy package with
pfSsh.php playback svc stop haproxythen everything went back to normal. Not sure what is wrong here but I wanted to report anyway. I have never ever encountered such a problem running pfsense more than a couple of years now.
I am attaching the logs. Redacted IP is the public ip. 172.31.255.20 is the VIP for haproxy. The problem starts on Apr 30. The most obvious indicators are kernel queu overflows errors.

If you start HAProxcy again the problem immediately returns?
The console is still resonsive? SSH?
What does
ps -auxwwd
show for the system usage? -
@stephenw10 after stopping HAProxy and restarting, I did not have the same issue. It is working as normal right now.
I cannot say console was unresponsive but it was lagging and timing out time to time until I stopped HAProxy.
Here, trying to reboot but I did not see the continuation. Most probably, this also timed out or aborted since uptime was 2d when I managed to get back into the UI.
When I tried to connect remotely via HAProxy to servers behind. I was always getting ssl handshake error "ssl handshake failed error code 525".
